Stop Domestic Abuse Film Festival

Part of UN Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. Organised with Sorptimist International who are dedicated to a world where women and girls meet their individual and collective potential and realise their aspirations.

2pm - Short: The Children Next Door
THE CHILDREN NEXT DOOR recounts the fear and pain of domestic violence through the eyes of children. The film takes us on a family’s journey to uncover the truth that lies beneath a reoccurring cycle of violence and the solution to end it. In so doing, they discover the path to reaching their full potential.
Followed by panel discussion.
Free activity workshop available for the children of adult screening attenders while the film is screened.

3.15pm - Short: Leaving
Helen fears for her life. She knows that her husband Jim will kill her if she stays. One night, following another vicious attack, she finds the courage to leave.

4.30pm - Main Feature: Tyrannosaur
Joseph, a man plagued by violence and a rage that is driving him to self-destruction, earns a chance of redemption that appears in the form of Hannah, a Christian charity shop worker.
